Small Show Drive 2018

Small Show Drive 2018
Every year a shop in Okayama named "Machikado R" holds a big drift and car meet event called "Slammed Show Drive". The event kept getting bigger & bigger, until last year it was so big they had a airport strip packed with cars and visitors. The events obviously take a lot of planning & organizing, & are usually announced the year before.
This year though, the event was named Small Show Drive, because Mr. Hayashi decided to keep things small and relaxed this time.

Despite being much smaller than last year, it was still a decent sized event with what looked like a couple hundred cars.

I always receive a special media pass and free parking/entrance pass in the mail, which makes me very happy, & it is the one event I make sure to attend each year.

I usually arrive early and take a stroll around the paddock and booth areas.

There were a lot of car shop and manufacturer booths there. Spirit Rei brought their Fairlady Z.

326 Power showed up in full force with their new fleet of "Tochikuru Racing" drift team members.

Pretty much if you have 326 coilovers & wheels you are eligible to be a part of this team... oh, & your car has to be super low.

It appears as though Haruguchi san is ready to move onto his next project as his car is apparently up for sale.

Mr. Yagyu, who owns this black Silvia, is one of the coolest dudes I ever met, and is a monster behind the wheel.

Gotou san's Onevia which recently got a new paint job.

HDO brought their KP61 Starlet, formerly Teruoshi Iwai's D1 car.

Hard Tuned had set up a booth as well.

Work Wheels had a Vlene kitted 86 on display.

Garage Dual from Aichi at the 326 booth.

At the Hectopascal booth there was this 180SX on Mikado wheels.

Mikado Wheels took inspiration from the Mitsubishi Zero fighter wheels for the design.

Aside from the shops and booths, they had a dance & car wash section of the show where scantily clad women danced and washed everyone's cars for a good portion of the day.

Neo Project from Fukuoka brought their cars as well.

Minekeru from Kobe in his Ginbasha Onevia.

This year's event was smaller but more easy going and I'd say the drift side of it was better than last year, with a greater percentage of the drift cars cars having "moar low". I wouldn't expect less from an event named Slammed Show Drive though either.

Due to lack of time I will wrap up my summary of the event here and leave you with a bunch of photos of the car show and drifting. Thanks for reading!
